transfer chances?

I'm thinking about applying to W&M for transfer from Boston College. I'm a freshman with a 3.8 GPA. I hope to maintain that or raise it a little this semester. History and Political Science Major.
SATs
Verbal- 640
Math- 680
Writing- 690
High school I was top 3% with some ECs like National Honors Society, Ambassadors, Student government, tutoring, Italian club, others
ECs in college- Student government and senate, a job as a tutor for an elementary school (2 days a week), intramural football, and a member of 3 or 4 more clubs. I may be forgetting a few ECs but that's the basic story.
ACT- 31
SAT II- US History- 760, Biology- 660.
AP US- 5, AP Bio-3, AP Micro- 4, AP English- 4, AP Lit-4, AP Envir. Sci.-4, AP- Modern Euro- 3, AP Calc AB-3
Any possible chance of acceptance? (I recently heard about this school, and it seems I'd be applying for next spring semester because to due date for fall has past) I also live in the northeast, so hopefully that doesn't negatively impact me.
Thanks

If you are looking to transfer into W&M, you need to talk Kim Van Deusen: William & Mary - About Kimberly Van Deusen
She's absolutely wonderful and will assist you with all questions you might have. Her e-mail isn't posted with her picture and profile in the link I gave you, but if you can't find her e-mail on the site just tell the office of transfer admissions a graduate of the college referred you to her and that you would like to contact her. Your high school stats look good, but more importantly you've shown that you can carry your weight in college with a 3.8 at a good school. As a transfer, W&M usually looks for students who have maintained at least around a 3.6 generally speaking. You should be fine in that department unless you take a major nosedive. Beyond the GPA, it's important to show what makes you unique compared to the other applicants. Make an effort in your essay and by other means to demonstrate how you will contribute to the William & Mary community. The admissions committee members are looking for people who really desire to be at W&M and aren't just testing the waters at an assortment of different schools with no clearcut direction. Being from the northeast might make it slightly tougher to be admitted, but the fact that you have a 3.8 and attend a highly ranked school really works in your favor. From what I've heard, W&M definitely admits less students for the spring semester. However, the amount that apply to transfer in the spring is also markedly lower. Talk to Kim and she will fill you in! btw - i was at the boston college vs. notre dame football game this past season, i was sitting in the notre dame section but BC played a much better game - had a good time up there though!

Thank you so much, Tribe! I will email her soon. I was also at that football game. It was amazing how much school spirit there was. Glad you had a good trip. Thanks so much again.

You're welcome! I was a history major (just graduated in 2008) so if you have any questions regarding the History department just let me know.

Really?! That's what I would be majoring in. I'm a little ahead of myself right now considering I will apply for spring transfer (since fall has passed). But I'll definitely be curious about it. Thanks

just keep up ur gpa... and ur definitely in...

They accept less people for spring transfer because there are less applicants... The rate is still about the same.

You will be fine. Trust me, if they accepted me to spring transfer, they'll take u too
