Transfer Chances?

Hey there everyone, I was wondering if someone might be so kind as to chance me. I know I'm non-traditional, so it'll be tough, but any guesses would be appreciated.

I returned to school (Community College) in 2007 after running my own small business from my graduation (home schooled) in 2003, until that time. I have a 4.0 GPA @ my current school, got a recommendation from the head of my department, all that jazz.

Unfortunately as a home schooled student I do not have SAT scores. I know Georgetown claims you don't need them if you've been out of HS for more than 5 years. Is this accurate?

At any rate, I've applied to Georgetown SFS, NYU and Drexel thus far. Received word back from Drexel immediately, accepted with a scholarship.

So I'm just curious as to how much of a chance I might have for the SFS. How much weight do they put on the essays?

Thanks so much!

I'm in a similar boat as yourself. I am 10 years out of high school(dropped out) and never took the SAT/ACT's but currently have a 3.9 gpa roughly with 71 credits in community college.

After reading some of the transfer threads from 2007 and 2006 on CC, I've gathered that Georgetown still puts emphasis on SAT/ACT scores and high school performance regardless of us being non-trad students because it is just that competitive to get into Georgetown.

Let's hope essays and letters of recommendation plus a great gpa are weighed more heavily than a lack of those exam scores and high school performance.

Lets hope indeed! Thanks for the info, glad theres at least someone out there in a similar boat. Hope to see you at Georgetown!
