Transfer chances?

Hi All! This is my first post!

So, enjoying the chatter on these forums, thought I'd get my feet wet. Anyone chance me please?
Transfer to William and Mary:

current GPA: 3.88

hiccup is that on the mid-term college official's report I will have an A, a B, a C, and a W. First C or W ever, but had a bad semester with my dad in the hospital. I can bring the grades up, but at this point, is there even a shot?

Do I even have a shot at waitlisting?

Good job on the 3.88 zenout. What semester are you in currently? A “W” is not likely to keep you from getting in. From what I gather you started the semester taking four classes, is that because you are working while going to school or just out of personal choice?

Thanks Tribe1693. As for which semester, more than my fourth, I have over 80 credits, just didn’t know transferring to a good school from a cc was really an option til a semester or two ago, so I’ve been trying to fulfill W&M prereqs. As for the four classes this semester, I needed 3 more prereqs to fulfill a guaranteed admission agreement, and the fourth was just to take for me. But with a C on the mid-term report, and a W, I am just freaking out. I emailed the admissions staff, and they said to include a letter saying why the grade was low and what I would do to bring it up, but I don’t know if I even have a shot.

Don’t freak out about the “W”, as long as the “W” isn’t a required pre-req for the transfer agreement you should be fine! You certainly have enough credits anyway! Your GPA is great, you are in-state, you have a transfer agreement, so I really can’t see any reason why you will not be admitted. Have you already applied? Have you visited the campus and talked to Kim Van Deusen? WM will open alot of doors for you and it is great that you are taking the initiative to transfer to a really great school
