Transfer Chances

Hey all! I'm currently a freshman at a small liberal arts college pretty darn far away from Pittsburgh, but I'm considering transferring to Pitt for the spring semester to be closer to my family after a tragedy at my current institution. Anyway, I was wondering if any of ya'll could give me a rough estimate of my chances of transferring in given my stats. Naturally, I don't have much college information since I've only been here a month, but I'll provide what I can.
HS GPA: 3.7
Class Rank: 35/255
Took 5 AP courses (but no tests), and mainly all honors classes
ECs: Spanish Club Pres, SADD, Drama Club, Academic Quiz Team Co-Captain

College GPA: Unknown for the long run, but it's at a 4.0 now. ;)
Taking mostly general classes: U.S. History, Econ 101, Chem 101, and a First Year Seminar for 16 credits this semester.
Involved with: Class Council (which organizes traditional events), the on-campus book club, Circle K, and the student-run newspaper.
I'm an undeclared history/political science major.

Any and all comments are appreciated! Thanks!

Oh! and I had a 30 comprehensive on the ACT and a 2050 on the SAT. After reading other chances threads I realized that might be a bit important. :)

I think you have a very good shot! What are you planning on majoring in?

Either history or political science, and possibly double majoring/minoring if I can in Spanish!

“Anyway, I was wondering if any of ya’ll could give me…”
If you are going to come home to Pittsburgh you will need to get the language correct. It should be:
“Anyway, I was wondering if any of yinz could give me…”

How embarrassing, considering I grew up in the suburbs! I guess my Pittsburghese has slipped a bit!

No problem. You should be happy that you’ve been gone long enough to have learned English. I’m sure the Pittsburghese will come back to you quickly enough. Hope you get accepted to Pitt and welcome back (almost)!
