Hello all. I am currently a freshman at Cornell CAS, but I am planning to transfer to Brown for many, many reasons. Anyway, that’s not important…I just want to know my chances. So here are the stats:

-Attended a public high school
-Rank: 2/82
-SAT I Math: 710
-SAT I Verbal: 690
-SAT II Math IC: 760
-SAT II Bio M: 750
-SAT II Writing: 700
-Enough ECs and “special” things to get into Cornell CAS.

Well, everyone knows that Cornell is a real hardass when it comes to grades, so here are my current (pathetic) marks:
-Writing Seminar: B+/A-
-Calc: B+/A-
-International Relations: B-/B
-Spanish: C

One thing I have heard that it is a little more difficult to transfer between the Ivies unless you had really compelling reasons because you are already at a great school. For transfer students to Brown an admissions officer told me it is the academic performance and rigor of classes and recommendations that are really important. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your input. The main reason I want to transfer is because I can't stand Cornell's curriculum, and I think that I would be happier with Brown's open curriculum. Furthermore, the social scene at Cornell is not what I had expected; my sister is at Brown, and she tells me that it seems that Bruins are generally less segregated. True, Cornell is diverse, but this diversity is pointless if people don't mix and mingle.
