Transfer Chances.

I'm looking at Colgate as a potential transfer option.

First semester GPA is 3.79 with one NC (huge blemish that I plan to make up for in the summer.)

Expecting a 4.0 this semester.

Prospective Philosophy or Government major, haven't made up my mind.

EC's:
Doing a volunteer internship with NYPIRG chapter at my school.
Volunteering a few hours a week at my state assemblyman's district office.
Planning on a legal internship.
Fiction/nonfiction editor on literary review.
Writing for student newspaper.
Member of Student Political Science Association.

SAT: 2100
Reading: 770
Math: 610
Writing: 720

Gonna re-take on the 13th to get that math up.

As far as rec's I know for now that I can get one from my American Government professor/chair of the political science department.

I'm a Hispanic male.

Odds... good, so-so, or pipe dream?

It’s still quite selective but make sure you’re clear on WHY Colgate is the place for you. How can Colgate help you achieve your goals? Be specific in your essay.

justinian: I think you have a really good chance for transferring. Just work on a great essay that really shows the admissions people about your personality and what specifically you like about Colgate. They are HUGE on the importance of community between our setting in a small town and the college campus. They also really value diversity so any experiences with that would be advantageous to share. Good luck!
