Transfer College of Business Application

Hi everyone! I’m applying to transfer to the College of Business management from the University of West Florida. First question, I’m a freshman but because I wanted to finish my AA as quick as possible to be able to transfer to UF I took 18 credits last semester and am taking 19 this semester. Last semester, I received a 3.63 GPA, which is above the requirement but not competitive to my understanding. Will the fact that I took 18 credit hours be taken into consideration? Or do they purely just look at the number?

ALSO, because my passion for UF, if I am not admitted to the specific management major, I think I would be willing to accept a general studies business major just to be able to attend. When in correspondence with a transfer admission rep, I was told that if you meet the basic transfer requirements but get denied for the specific major, you are guaranteed admission to the general studies. The kicker is that you cannot switch majors from a general studies. Can I get some clarification on what exactly a general studies business major is? How will this affect me if I do accept?

THANK YOU!

Hi,

I think if you get denied for a specific major, you are automatically considered for the general studies major (admission is never guaranteed).

Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration General Studies(BABA)

See the following link for details on the BABA program:

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply,

Thats what I thought too, however this quote from the website confused me:

“BABA – General Studies applicants: If you meet all other requirements and have a 3.5 GPA or higher in all 7 prerequisites, you will be admitted. If you still have prerequisites in progress, but have a 3.5 or higher GPA in four or more, including Financial Accounting, you will be conditionally admitted”
