Transfer Colleges from Pharmacy to Liberal Arts!!!

I am currently a sophomore in a pre-pharmacy program at a four year college in california. However, my passion has always been in subjects such as English and Philosophy, so I am now looking to transfer to a different liberal arts college in the same state because I would only stay at my current school for pharmacy. My stats from high school (gpa, sat, ec) were are all excellent and was accepted into good schools with a liberal arts major. Now my gpa in college is low (2.7) because I struggled in the pharmacy science classes. During college, I took many extra classes like public speaking and philosophy and received high grades, so excluding my science classes, I have a 3.9 gpa.

I was looking at colleges such as Pitzer and Santa Clara University as an English or Journalism major. Would schools understand my situation of completely changing my field of interest? What schools would I have a chance in?

Also, because I am a sophomore, would it be too late for me to transfer when I am a junior; that is, transferring in the middle of junior year?
