So, I was admitted for Political Science Fall 2012. My acceptance came with two conditions: pass International Relations with a B or better (which I did) and obtain my AA degree before the start of the term.

My path to UF was a little convoluted in that I started off at an out of state university for my first three semesters of college, then decided to move back to my home state of Florida. I attended Santa Fe College this past semester to bridge the gap between my time at my first university and UF. My credits transferring to UF come from three places; my old university, Santa Fe, and AP scores. According to Santa Fe, 25 percent of my credits have to come from them in order for that school to award me my AA, even though I have satisfied all of the credit requirements for each of the AA categories and electives (through those combined three sources).

Do I need to take some summer classes at Santa Fe to up that percentage so they'll award me my actual AA, or is satisfying all of the AA requirements enough? My previous four-year institution, where most of the credits come from, does not award AA degrees...

When you are filling out the application, it asks you what schools you attended and what degree you obtained/will obtain from them. If you were not at SF as a degree seeking student, you shouldn’t have said you would be awarded an A.A (especially if you do not know how to go about getting one)

You should have transferred your University credits to the Community college, completed atleast 15 credits at SF and applied for Graduation from that community college. That would have awarded you the degree. No, simply taking scattered gen ed. classes does not qualify as an A.A degree obviously.

An AA degree so so much more than just 60 credits in Florida. It means your gordon rule and general education requirements have been met among other things. You should not enroll at UF if you are not going to meet your admission requirements.

It ended up being a bit of a misunderstanding on my part of my degree audit-- turns out I was only one class away from officially being awarded my AA from Santa Fe after all. Taking the class over the summer, applied for graduation, and will be awarded my AA at the end of the term, prior to my enrollment for Fall 2012 at UF. Thanks for the responses though!
