Transfer confusion

Hey Everyone! My names Samantha and I am currently completing my first semester at Florida international university. I am majoring in English and working on my bachelors. I also have a bit of an Issue. My entire family is moving either Baltimore, Pennsylvania or Virginia next fall and I don't have the means to stay in such an expensive city alone (I love in Miami) I am currently taking five courses within FIU and I find the workload to be completely different than high school. I am still trying to get the hang of studying for the exam and I am struggling to obtain my usual performance skills. I am considering dropping a class (mat1033 aka intermediate algebra) so that I can focus on my psychology and English classes that I am already taking (I am also taking SLS and a sculpting class) Would the universities I am applying for have a problem with two w's? Would they find me to be a weak and/or immature candidate if I were to drop two course? The first w was accidental since my counselor signed me up for a class I didn't want to take (I dropped the class after orientation and I had no idea what a w was) My question is, if I drop my mat class will it affect my chances of getting into the following universities

Penn state
University of Maryland
University of Virginia
John Hopkins
George Washington University
Tufts

Oh, and I had a 3.6 weighted GPA in high school, 120 community service hours and some AP Courses that I've passed. I am also a minority woman (I was born here but my parent are from Peru). I really want to get into these universities, and want to know if it still be possible if I had this two W's with a high GPA. Thank you all so much for your help!!!

call the target school. each school treat W’s differently
