Transfer - Courses

If I'm planning on transferring from a CSU to a UC (SJSU to Berkeley), how would I know which courses would transfer over when I select my classes?

I know that CCCs get priority and that assist.org is there to show course articulations, but I still cannot find much information about CSU to UC transfers. I realize that it would be much easier to transfer from a CCC.

I'm quoting Ms. Sun from a similar question from Yahoo answers:
"The CSU courses will need to be evaluated for transfer and you can get an idea of whether the course will transfer by comparing the descriptions of the courses you took at CSU to the course descriptions of similar courses at UCLA."

Does this mean that if the courses are similar, they are likely to transfer?

Also, can someone clarify between lower division transferring and junior level transferring? Which would be easier? I qualify/has been accepted to a UC currently (I'm a senior in high school), just not the one that I would like to go to.

Thank you for any help.

This is definitely not a perfect foolproof way but if you have a ton of spare time, you could try comparing your school to one of your local CCs and then compare Cal to that same CC also. There have probably been some people from your school that attempted this before so check with a counselor at your school (or even Cal but when they’re less busy) and see if they know of an unofficial agreement on some classes on record.

No idea if that’ll help though.

compare them on Assist i mean*

Thank you for your reply. I tried calling the admissions place, but I got an automated message. I will try to talk to the college counselor person at my school and your idea is the best I got so far. I was planning on doing something like that.
