Transfer Credit + GPA

Does anyone know if, when transferring credit from other schools, say, Washtenaw Community College or Oakland Community College, the GPA carries over, or just the credits carry over to Michigan?

Only the credits carry over (unless the school is U-M Dearborn or Flint, then the GPA can too).

Thanks for the answer! I’m glad this B in sociology won’t ruin my GPA now :D

Also, is this true for courses that transfer as actual class equivalencies, rather than just departmental credit?

This varies depending on the community college and the class. You should be able to find answers here: [University of Michigan Community College Transfer Portal | Transfer Guides and Transfer Course Equivalencies](http://commcoll.umich.edu/transfer/equivalencies.html)
