Transfer credit...

I am planning to transfer to university in the eastern part after sophomore year for residential reasons.
So I've been searching for some information to reduce disadvantages in my transfer credits. Since I haven't decided my major yet, I am trying to take subjects which is transferrable in most universities. Actually, it sounds really stupid, but I wanted to search for all universities and minimize the chance of taking useless subjects (I mean.. not useless but things I will lose ^^;). Then I realized that's just impossible. There were so many, moreover, universities do not even have a fixed regulation in the first place.

I am just wondering how people choose their course schedule when they are in my situation. Do they just risk it?

I will appreciate if anyone help me out from dispair!
I'm so helpless..

Well, I transferred from a university with semi-strict requirements on course distributions for students in the art school (which I was) to a college that is a whole lot less strict. So I didn't worry about what courses would be useful after I transferred, and I didn't worry too about getting a head start on my requirements at my first college, figuring if I couldn't transfer I'd still have three years to complete them. Instead, I took lots of really amazing artsy classes and courses that I even just picked on a whim, and had a great year, all things considered. Still so glad that I transferred, mind you, but even more glad that I didn't waste my first year worrying about requirements I wouldn't even have later.

So in answer to your question, heh, I guess I just risked it!
