I'm currently taking two classes at a community college to get my government and history credits. When I transfer them to UT, will the GPA for each course matter? In other words, will they contribute to my UT GPA, or even show up anywhere in the future?

No, only the courses you take at UT count towards your GPA :(

Do you already go to UT? Your GPA in those classes only count if you’re trying to transfer.

Ok thanks. Yea, I’m already a student (going to be a sophomore)

It will count towards your GPA #2 or #3. There’s a GPA for UT, then theres a GPA for other institutions where you took courses at. It should affect your “cumulative” GPA. It helps, for example, if you apply to law school. Send them all your transcripts, including the one at community college because the courses are still part of your bachelors degree. I’m pretty sure they will take into account the GPA from CC, but if not, they will have it at least and probably mesh it together with UTs.

The credit will be transferred over, the gpa will not affect your UT gpa but like Denumx said, it will be considered if you apply to any kind of graduate school like law school.
