Transfer Credits Question

I took some classes at a community college during high school, and I recieved some credit for them. I was wondering if I transfer that credit, does it count towards the credits needed for my major / breadth requirement?

It's typically on a course-by-course basis. Typically, the department chair or professor will look over the course material, textbook, homework, tests... to determine if it meets Hopkins' standards.

Thanks!

On the same note, do credits earned via AP testing also work for credit towards those requirements, or do APs only give you credit for placement. I couldnt quite figure it out through the advising manual.

I believe, though someone else can correct me, is that based upon a sufficint satisfactory score on the AP test, you can apply to opt out of taking that class and instead recieve direct credit for it on your transcript. I believe that is how it works.

Yes. Suppose you want to be a bio major and you got a 5 on AP Bio. Then when you register for courses, you can skip to the next level, and you will get the 8 credits.

Read the Student Handbook: Academic Manual:

Credit for Work Done Elsewhere
