Transfer Credits

Hi,
I was accepted into GS this fall though I deferred my entry till next spring. I have a concern regarding my transfer credit eligibility. My ECR states that i have 60 PENDING transfer credits. If these are definite or not will be determined by academic advisor, so states the ECR.
I am a bit dubitative about going since I my credits may not be transferred. I am an international student, from Latin America, Argentina. My credits were taken at local university, I study a degree called Arts, which basically a mix of Art History, Literature and Aesthetics.
Does anybody know whats the chance of my credits being transferred, I am not willing to start my degree in Columbia zero and lose all my credits.

In general, don’t worry, GS will take your credits. You should contact them and ask for clarification, they should provide it. However GS almost always accepts credits from real, accreddited universities. If they said 60 are pending, I would guess you’ll get 60 (or nearly all, maybe like 54).

I agree with campaigner, that you probably don’t have much to worry about. I would definitely give the Dean of Students office a call for clarification, ESPECIALLY since you said your decision to attend hangs in the balance. The number is (212) 854-2881. Just explain your case to the secretary, and they will set an appointment up with an adviser to go over your ECR. I hope this helps. Congrats on your acceptance!
