Transfer Credits

I was hoping to at least get most of my credits "acknowledged" or whatever by Rutgers before class scheduling. How long does it normally take for the credits to go through?

What school are your credits from? I'm wondering if the credits i took at Montclair University will transfer at all. Does anyone know more about the credit transfer?

I'm coming from TCNJ

hey RUTransfer, i am looking to transfer to tcnj or rutgers for next year (havent heard from either yet) but just curious why r you leaving tcnj for ru?

RU has a better engineering program, and I sort of liked the city atmosphere better at RU. I only go off campus here at TCNJ when there's a party, and parties are usually only a short ten minute walk away. There's really no other reason to leave campus at TCNJ.

TCNJ doesn't have as many research opportunities either. If you're going for business/engineering, I'd say RU is your best bet. Anything liberal learning or teaching related, you're better off with TCNJ (academic wise anyway). TCNJ's accolades are all for liberal learning and teaching. Life/Physical sciences, i've heard, are at the same level for each school.

Rutgers will not evaluate your credits until you actually enroll into Rutgers. Then you will be invited for a “STAR” Day where you can speak with an academic advisor who will evaluate credits. You can compare the syllabus from catalogs.rutgers.edu and find a similar course. If there are pretty much the same the chances are they will transfer over but obviously I’m not guaranteeing anything

I enrolled as soon as I found out I was actually accepted, which was back around March 13. Is there a specific date for “STAR” day? (I’m not in the NJSTARS program…i’m transferring from TCNJ).

When should I apply to Rutgers if I plan on transferring there for not this year, but the next?

if you are applying for Fall 2010 then get your application in around October.

Thanks! I apply online, right?
