Anyone know about Clemson's transfer policies? I'm taking the second half of my senior year of high school at a local college, taking Calculus I, English 101, Sociology 201, and Wester Civ I. Was wondering if anyone has ever transferred similar credits?

This website gives a list of all the college credits that have ever been transferred to Clemson (and their Clemson course equivalency): [UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS](http://virtual.clemson.edu/groups/tcel/)

If you’re lucky, your college may be on this list and you can see if anybody’s transferred your classes to Clemson before. If not, I’m sure your classes can transfer, you just need to find out what will transfer or not.

Alright, after taking a look at that, it looks like Wester Civ and Soc definitely transfer. However, EN 101 transfers as “ELEC ONLY”…I wonder why that is?? Unfortunately, Calc I isn’t listed. Who should I talk to in order to find out if it’s eligible?

Here’s how to transfer college credits if you are a transfer student: [Transferring Credits From Another Institution : Clemson University](http://www.clemson.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transferring-credits/another-institution/)

Obviously, it will be slightly different since you are a high school student. You need to get your hands on a credit evaluation form (it might be in your admissions packet/book?), fill that out and submit it along with a final official college transcript.

Oh and it’s very hard to get exempted from English 103 (Accelerated Composition), the class that nearly every first year student takes. I know for AP classes, you have to get a 5 on the AP English exams to get exempted from 103.

My D was also told that if your class is not on the list of approved transfer courses that you should go and talk with the registrar’s office if you have any questions.

^that’s a good idea too

LOL Someone must have transferred from my college to Clemson recently, because my course is up there now. Weird. Anyway, everything looks ok now. Even though I took these courses in high school, they should definitely be awarded credit, right? (I’m thinking it’s kind of like the AP policy?)

Edit: Is there an entrance exam for English? I can’t seem to find it, but there must be, right?

there isn’t an entrance exam for english, everyone takes english unless you get a 5 on the AP english exam

Then how do you get put in ENG 101/102/103?

you just do, everyone has to take English 103 sometime during their freshman year

I’ve taken 6 history classes as a history major and every single one of them is an elective. If its not corrected to at least give me 4 of them, the dean and I are going to have to sit down and have a talk. Im a transfer and have taken 72 units after this semester and it seems like they are only going to accept like 18, I dont get it. I believe clemson says you can transfer up to 70 units/hours and 30 in your major. I dont get why it’s like that. But it could be way different since I dont think anyone from my JC has ever gone to Clemson.
