<p>From my understanding, most UCs could really care less about them.</p>
<p>UCs don't care, but most other selective schools do. You're safe if you stay with a state school.</p>
<p>My S did not have anything significant at all wrt ECs at college and was accepted to a number of selective and highly selective publics and privates. YMMV.</p>
