Transfer Criteria

Im a little confused as what admission officers look for in a transfer student.

I am a fresheman in colege and want to transfer.
Im sure that they look at your college gpa, but what about the difficult of the classes? It's college so there really isnt any honors classes. So does that matter.

what about your sat scores?

Extracurrical? Do you need to have leadership positions?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

if you are going to apply as a sophomore, then your SATs and high school records will play a big role in your admission decision. If you apply as a junior, then GPA/curriculum will be the most important factors in admission. You should definitely take as many difficult classes related to your major as you can.

Some universities don’t even look at the SATs, usually it’s just ivy leagues that require SATs for transfers (junior). As for extra-curricular activities, it is really important as well and you should definitely have them, but i think what matters most as far as admission goes is course curriculum and GPA.
