It’s very typical for admissions offices to give students extensions to make a decision about where to enroll, given that the reasons for asking for an extension are legitimate. Have your daughter ([PaulaDanielle, I presume?) call Smith and Mt. Holyoke asking for extensions because she hasn’t heard back from the rest of her schools. If you’re afraid that isn’t legitimate enough of a reason for the schools, have her lie and tell them that she would like to visit campus before deciding where to enroll, but cannot visit soon due to classes. Just asking for an extension on the premise of waiting for other decisions should work though. Another actually legitimate excuse may be if you guys can’t afford multiple deposits and mention that to Smith and Mt. Holyoke. It will strengthen your case for needing some more time to decide. At worst, if not given an extension (which I highly doubt will happen), pay the deposit for one of the two schools, and then withdraw if after May 1 your daughter decides to enroll elsewhere.

Also, I think you should look at this regarding Brown:
From Brown Admission: Transfer Students](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/members/pauladanielle-367072.html):

This is a method mentioned on the Brown website to speed up decisions for applicants in your daughter’s exact position. Good luck.
