Does anyone know when Wake will let their transfer applicants know of a decision?

Thanks.

i also applied for transfer…are you a freshman now? they told me that they had to wait to get my grades from the current semester before they can make a decision…so they told me (since my semester ends in about a week) that ill be getting my decision with two or three weeks after they get my grades…they said around the end of May i should know

When did they tell you they were waiting to receive your current grades? Are you a first or second semester freshman? Son is a 2nd semester freshman and never received any notification that they had to wait until his grades from this semester came in. I see you’re at Northeastern – not loving it? Son is at BU and not loving it.

Well I was at a different college during the fall, so I’m assuming that is why they want to wait until this semester ends. What doesn’t your son like about BU? Personally, I love the business program at Northeastern, and all of my professors are great, but to be honest, I don’t like how big Northeastern is, and I don’t like how there is no sense of community. I would much rather go to a school where everyone knows everybody by name. If I don’t get accepted to Wake Forest, it’s not the end of the world, especially since I have co-op to look forward to, but I would obviously prefer to be there.

Oh okay, that explains why they want to wait to see this semester’s grades. Son doesn’t like BU for pretty much the same reason you don’t like Northeastern. Personally, I think they’re both great schools but I can also see the lure of wanting the more traditional campus experience. He’s applied to a bunch of schools so will have to see what happens-- probably won’t hear from all of them until June. Keeping fingers crossed!

Well good luck to your son, and if you don’t mind, let me know when he gets his decision for Wake, so I know when I can expect mine (the waiting is killing me).

Will do. Hoping it comes soon as he’s a bit disappointed from recently being waitlisted at UNC-Chapel Hill.

I am a freshman looking to transfer, I was emailed two weeks ago and they requested my spring grades.

S got transfer acceptance package on 4/29! Letter was dated 4/21, postmarked 4/26, and arrived on 4/29.

Good Luck to all of you!!!

Rcwhite, I also got a request for spring term grades, do you think this is a good thing? I mean myoneandonly was accepted and wasn’t asked for grades, so I’m starting to worry.

By the way, did the email you receive say, “In order to complete the application process the following required documents must be submitted: College Transcript?” Or did it actually say that they wanted your “spring term grades?”

Um I am not sure, I am not surprised by the request because I had an upward trend in high school grades, and 4.0 at my current school, just a community college in southern california, it said this:

Dear Rick,

Following a careful review of your transfer application to Wake Forest University, the Committee is requesting that you send your final official transcript from your current institution. We would like to review your file again once we receive your final spring semester grades. Until that time, your admissions decision will be pending. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Lauren Bradley
