@ JSmith210 & cellogirl2013, I wouldn’t get discouraged about a non-conventional background. I dropped out of HS my junior year because of a dangerous home life with a 1.8 GPA, but after a few years I got a GED and went back to CC, so I’m applying now with a 3.91 and 100 credits (although I know most of my electives won’t transfer). I talked to a couple of advisors on campus at UW and they assured me that my awful past experiences would actually help me get in. I guess they want people who have sort of “re-dedicated” themselves to their education after a period of hardships, because those sorts of people are the most likely to finish a degree and not waste the school’s time. At least that’s how it was explained to me.

@Colegmaroo I do not think you have to worry too much about that. I had that same page as you for the past few weeks till this morning. They’ll probably need to take some time to get everyone’s unofficial transcript page uploaded.

did your admission application information link change as well?

@mickeymckee Nope, it is still exactly the same. Only that my unofficial transcript loaded after I clicked on it. Once it loaded, it has access to all the registration and other essential stuffs.

I spoke with Admissions yesterday and I got two key pieces of information. One, that NC grades from my home institution would not be factored as 0.0 into my numerical GPA, though they are considered in the “holistic review” (some hippy thing that probably helps me get in). Two, that it takes 10 days for the admission blurb to change once you have been accepted (or denied, presumably). Of course, by then you have received notification via postal mail.

Hope this helps someone.

@Kirosky, congrats!

@psychguy, thanks! Congrats on your admission as well! =))

This sucks because I took a UW in high school credit for a world language like 4 years ago so my page would load but I don’t know if i got in or not, LOL. <.<

@JSmith210 yes I did but the application for the program I applied into was twice as better as the application for general admission. Now I am stressed about the general admission to the point where I can’t even focus >.<

For those worried about your past: If you’ve totally aced CC then don’t worry about it.

I dropped of HS, got my GED, went to a university for a year where I got straight F’s (I stopped attending shortly after the start of every quarter and was too stupid at the time to officially withdraw)

14 years later I went to CC and got a 3.92. I transferred successfully and got my BA with a 3.82 (3.87 departmental). Oh…and it was free I got a merit based scholarship.
I plan on starting school this fall to work on my MA.

So don’t worry. It creates a great narrative for your essay as well :)

Any fall applicant has their unofficial transcript loaded for Seattle yet?

@zenitaUW, still waiting :(. Some people from Foster already got their unofficial transcript uploaded.

@Kevinsauer, I know. I got the email from chemistry department about 2 weeks ago. Still waiting for admission. It’s the most stressful experience in my life!

Anyone got transcript loaded today??

@rockyuw Nope. SO frustrating…

no word yet…

UW’s student services page isn’t working. probably a good thing, so I can’t indulge my obsessive checking of the “unofficial transcript” page…

Anybody has trancript loaded?

@rockyuw Nope. Is it supposed to show up as soon as you get accepted?

Yeah it should
