Transfer decision

What you guys majors?

Anthropology and Astronomy/Physics, but I put Anthropology on the application since a) you could only list one and b) I had more prereqs done and c) I had a 4.0 in those prereqs.

Congrats you guys

Fall '13 Transfer from Seattle Central
School of Oceanography, College of the Environment
3.5 GPA
I’m so excited!! :)

Congrats everyone! Be sure to let us know when your letters arrive.

and stats too

Has anyone from Arts and Sciences officially heard yet? My unofficial transcript and student functions loaded today but there’s been no letter.

Stats:
GPA: 3.63
Credits: 95 (CC transfer)
ECs: Editor for college newspaper, part-time job
Projected major: Communications and English double

I’m listed as “pre-humanities” on my unofficial transcript. So far it seems like business and science majors are getting in…

Guys, I can’t believe it!!! I WAS ACCEPTED!!! and I just found out in the most accidental way… I cleared my browsing history the other day, and because of that my UW NetID wasn’t saved into the login anymore, silly me I had forgotten it. I emailed them asking if they could tell me my netID and they gave me a number to call to help retrieve it. I called that number which was registration and she said she wouldn’t have the info I needed unless I was accepted. I said “Oh ok, I had emailed asking for help before and this was the number they had put in the email.” She then says “Oh, well maybe you were offered admissions, let me check!” SO right then and there I unexpectedly found out over the phone! My unofficial transcript has loaded as well. I am so happy!!

my current GPA is low at only a 3.38, it was even a little lower when I applied. My first year of running start I was going through a really hard time with family issues and basically started off to a bad start. But have since made honor roll and have many A’s and A-'s on my transcript.

For my major I put French, I have been studying for over 10 years and have tutored French at my CC too. I did a college internship at Disney World.

I believe my essay was what sealed the deal for me, I really wrote like my life depended on it. Also, I will have my AA in two weeks so that might have influenced it too!

I was accepted to UW (I think). My unofficial transcript loaded just now. So, i think that means I am being offered admission. I will be attending WSU, though, because the program that I am going into is better there. I will be reserving UW for graduate school. For those who may be curious about my stats, EC, and awards:

Stats
GPA - 3.5 (at time of application)
High school SATs - 1700 (I don’t think that matters)
Credits - 91 (I will be getting my AA in a week)

ECs

 • Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper
 • Member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society
 • Staff member of my college radio station

Awards

 • Editor-in-chief award (comes with the position)
 • Journalist of the year award

As for my personal statement, I wrote for my life. I spent over months writing, and had an ex-Wall Street Journal writer look over it. At the time I applied to UW, I was completely focused on going there. I did more research on programs in the state, and found that WSU was the best choice for my major.

Anyways, good luck to everyone who is wants to get in and attend UW! I hope that my stats give people something to refer to.

@people that received their their letter of acceptance after loading their unofficial transcript: How long did it take for your letter to arrive after your unofficial transcript loaded?

@Backdoorslam, I received my letter 2 days after my transcript loaded.

For those of you who have had their transcript load, did you see anything change under Financial Aid Status?
Mine just shows 2013-2014 messages and says “At this time, you have no awards for this aid year” before and after my transcript loaded.
I’m kind of worried because nothing on my myUW indicates they received any FAFSA info, only an email from FAFSA saying they’ll send my info to the school.

I was looking at the financial aid website today, and technically the deadline for 2013-2014 isn’t until June 30th. So maybe they wait for that deadline before they send award letters? just a thought

Don’t worry about your financial aid. If you sent your FAFSA – they must’ve received it. I didn’t get my FA notification until June 30th or so when I got accepted last year. I did receive it earlier this year though.

@seatac & alexandrab14 appreciate it guys. I’ll just keep waiting

@erinseattle

I haven’t received a letter yet, but my unofficial transcript loaded and I’m listed as a pre-social science major at the college of arts and sciences. I applied for general admission, but I listed communications as my intended major.

Did any of you have your credits transferred yet?

Congratulations to everyone who got in!

Has anyone who applied into the Design Department or School or Art gotten word yet? My unofficial transcript hasn’t loaded yet and I haven’t gotten a letter in the mail either… I figure since the major I applied for (Visual Communications) is competitive, it’s gonna take longer to process?

Congratulations guys!!! I still have yet to receive a response. Any OOS students receive notice?

Yes, I’d love to here about OOS students, as I am one!
