Transfer decision

@Liszella good luck! That’s crazy that you got rejected, your stats look better than a lot of the people who did get in. I have no idea what they’re looking for…

@Liszella This is odd as I remember the transfer Thursday advisor saying something on the lines of if you’re accepted into foster you’re accepted into UW. Please keep us updated…

I’ve been lurking these forums for about a month and today I decided to make an account since my unofficial transcript loaded today. When I get something in the mail, whether it be an acceptance or rejection letter, I will post again!
Applied to UW Seattle.
Just finished my 2nd year at a CC in Washington.
High school I had like 3.6-3.65 GPA unweighted w/ 14.5/24.5 credits being AP.
When I applied to UW my Community College GPA was 3.75+.
Total of 80 credits after 2 years. (not including AP credits)
SAT of 1920.

My Unofficial transcript says:
StudentNo.
Name
Class: sophomore
College: Arts & Science
Major: Pre science
And it shows that I earned 49 credits from AP, that I passed high school and SAT score, etc.

I applied with Computer science as major and math as the second option, but I said in my letter that I was not yet ready to enter my major yet.

Like I said I will post again when I receive any more news from UW. If anyone has any questions I will try to answer them the best I can.
Good luck everyone! Waiting sucks, but just because you haven’t heard back even in mid July doesn’t mean you were rejected. I remember my brother got accepted in late July when he transferred to UW several years ago. And just because your unofficial transcript doesn’t load it doesn’t mean you were rejected either.

hey pals - I applied to Intl Studies - Latin America and Caribbean.

I’m hopefully waiting. I have 90+ credits from SCCC and a 3.45 GPA

any other Jackson School people hear from UW on their transfer decision?

PS my unofficial transcript is not loading either. soo anxious!

@sweetwankle I applied to International Studies-Asia and my transcript loaded a week ago. I received my acceptance letter on Saturday. I have 91 credits from a Seattle community college and my GPA at the time I applied was 3.54.

Good luck!

it’s Wednesday. still nothing. does anyone know if the online status changes quickly? I’m checking myUW like 6-8 times a day.

Anyone who applied to the School of Art received their letter yet? Still waiting…

Also, is there any repeaters who got accepted? I got accepted last year for fall 2012 but decided to go to an art school in California. Some serious family problems happened and I had to drop out and move back to Seattle and now I’m trying UW again. Anyone know if that will hurt my chances?

I applied to the college of art and sciences and I already got mine.

Has anyone who applied to the Program of the Environment heard back?

I have an update on my situation. After receiving a rejection letter to UW and an acceptance to the Foster School of Business, I decided to move along with the appeal process. I contacted admissions to find out why my admission was rejected, and this is what they sent:

Thank you for the message! Due to an error in communication between our departments, we did not have you on the admitted student list from Foster School of Business. After verifying your acceptance with them, we have changed your general admissions decision. My deepest apologies for our mistake and any trouble this has caused for you. Your acceptance letter and welcome information will be sent to you by postal mail in the next few days. Again, I am so sorry about this error and we look forward to having you on campus with us in the fall!

So I did end up making it in after all.

congrats liszella!

Congrats liszella! It did seem very strange that you wouldn’t have been admitted. I’m glad it was just a clerical error. Let that be a lesson to us all - it’s always worth undertaking the appeal process. You just never know!

I posted a couple of days ago saying that my unofficial transcript loaded. Well today I received the acceptance letter in the gold “BIG” envelope.

@AMstandard congrats!

And absolutely, if you get rejected I really recommend at least contacting admissions to find out why, and decide if it’s something you are able to appeal. I’m so excited, and relieved. It’s been quite the roller coaster of emotions this week.

Good luck everyone!

Way to go, liszella! I knew they must have made some error with stats as good as yours. And PrincipessaAnna, that’s an excellent point.

I finally received the big envelope in the mail today! I’m a non-resident, so hopefully other OOS’ers will receive theirs soon.

My stats…

Major: Pre-Social Science
Intended Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.91
Extracurriculars: Phi Theta Kappa, math tutor

I hope to see some of you soon!

Was admitted to my major about a month and a half ago.

Just received my envelope today.( Applied to a Engineering major-haven’t heard yet- and a biochemistry major- offered admission)

Stats:
3.99 GPA
130 credits(over the course of 2 years)

I got my rejection letter on Sat. and will be contacting admission Monday to see if I can get more info, and will be filing an appeal. Applied as a bio major

Stats; Graduated with my AA this term with a 3.70, finished my biology series with a 2 4.0’s and a 3.5, have a 3.85 science gpa. Member Phi Theta Kappa, have tons of volunteer work in medical field.

I still haven’t heard anything from the admissions. :frowning: my unofficial transcript doesn’t load either. I guess I am rejected? I am an oos, from a 4 yr university, non traditional, general admission(I listed chem as my major but I didn’t apply to the department) and filed a paper application (cos I wanted to send my resume and a supplemental essay). I am so so tired of waiting. :(

@longhornedhusky I also applied to general admissions with out applying to a major because I switched majors just before I applied and need more credits for the new major. I’m wondering if they informed the people who applied to their majors first and are informing those who applied for general admissions now. I’m not giving up hope quite yet.

Some people who got acceptance letters still didn’t have their transcript load even last week. My mom knows someone whose daughter got accepted last week, her last name started with a P so I’m hoping they are going alphabetically because my last name starts with an S.

This waiting is super stressful and I’ve been refreshing my transcript at least 10 times a day!
