Transfer decision

Anyone from the Program of the Environment accepted?

Talked with an admissions advisor today and he said that they are hoping to have decisions made by Wednesday! At least it’s somewhat of a time frame.

I got my acceptance letter today (3 mailing days after transcript loaded) but I’m still waiting for the big envelope.

I called the admissions too and they simply told me to wait. sighs

Got my rejection to the regular program today :frowning: but was offered the Evening Degree Program. Not sure how I feel about it. I will appeal the decision but will go o the evening program if I need to. Anyone know anything about the evening program?

My stats are:
3.47 at time of applying (3.56 now)
Have a ton of extra curriculers like student government and was the board chair of a statewide student organization.
At the time I wasn’t but now I am a Phi Theta Kappa member.

Hopin I can get an appeal with some awesome letters of recommendations.

Have any out-of-state linguistic majors gotten their acceptances yet?

Last update: Got the big enrollment confirmation envelope today (4 mailing days after transcript loaded, 1 mailing day after acceptance letter arrived).

I got my rejection today. at least the wait is over.

longhornedhusky, sorry to hear that :frowning: What are your stats?

For those of you who got rejected, I feel for ya. I got rejected by 5 five schools this year, and this is my last chance. I submitted my engineering application 2 days ago.

How did you guys receive your decisions? Was it through e-mail or mail? For me, I want to know the decision right away because I’m an international student and the mail will take forever to my country.

US students are notified by postal mail. International students are notified via email.

BTW I was surprised you were allowed to apply. I was under the impression that the application period is closed.

Same here. Travelgirl is right. We will receive the email notification. I submitted my engineering application yesterday. I think the uw general admission will be made after the department decision become available. Good luck!

@travelgirl

The engineering application was open on June 21th to July 1st. I know it sounds crazy:P Wish I will hear bk the admission soon. I’m so worried abt that right now. If I cannot get into the department, I can barely have enough time to finished up all the paper work and visa stuff for another school I was admitted. The waiting time is so painful for engineering stds. It just takes forever.

Anyone get an email saying their MyUW account will be unavailable after July 16th? My friend got one today… he is a transfer from a WA community college for engineering.

“The engineering application was open on June 21th to July 1st. I know it sounds crazy:P”

But you did the application to the school as well, right?

You have to apply to both the school itself and the department.

All of holicholica’s posts imply that they applied to the school. They asked “Does any engineering std get the admission? Do we hear bk the general admission BEFORE or AFTER the department decision?” I am sure everyone who seeks out a forum like this is intelligent enough to realize they have to apply to the school, not just the department…

" I am sure everyone who seeks out a forum like this is intelligent enough to realize they have to apply to the school, not just the department…"

You’d be surprised…

As someone who’s been active in this forum for almost three years, I’ve learned quite a few things, hopefully you will too.

There have been many people that have indeed applied to a department w/out applying to the school. This does NOT mean they are not intelligent.

In fact there are a lot of things people don’t know, and they come to this forum to seek out answers. (Just like many people don’t know how to switch majors, drop a major, add/drop classes, apply to graduate, etc). This does not make them unintelligent.

Any big university is going to be full of processes that aren’t always straightforward or equal the experiences of applying to or attending another school. That’s why I love coming here, to help those that may need it.

I sincerely hope you don’t dismiss people that you may run across that might not know the answers to things as being unintelligent.

All questions are equal, whether it’s someone elses or mine. It would serve you well to be more tolerant.

I think you missed the point that his posts showed he knew about the application requirements.

@travel girl, if later I want to switch from the major I listed on my application, what do I do?

As for competitive and non-competitive majors?

Please help. :)

Also, can you register by yourself and register for the classes that you want after the orientation? Or do you have to meet up with an advisor for every time you want to register or change classes?
