I stumbled on this thread while trying to find out when the transfer decisions will be posted. I'm applying for sophomore transfer from American University in DC, and I have the immunization, housing application, financial aid, laptop, and change of address information on my applicant central page. I sent my application in in early February, so I really hope that I hear back soon.
Good luck to everyone!

well it looks like i didn't get in then...still only 3 icons on the app central and I can't create an onyen...good luck to everyone

however I am in the directory...i really don't know if that means anything though

UNCjtd20, don't read too much into it. We have no idea how they update these things and maybe some of the icon stuff doesn't apply to you ie the financial. Best of luck.

UNCjtd20...do you have a housing icon? I saw you referenced it on another thread. If so, what other 2 icons do you have.

Ok, another question. Has everyone always been able to click on "new students" on the app central page and get a page? Son says that is open but he had never tried it before so maybe it always worked?

The only answer is to find someone who is radically underqualified and see if they have the icons. If they do, the icons likely don't mean anything. If they don't, I'd bet the icons are a pretty good indicator. Does anyone know this hypothetical person and could you please ask them about this?

I have decided to stay at CC for another year and continue taking coursework for medical school, in opposition of going to some good schools. In reality, I could be offered a spot at Harvard, and I would not change my perspective. Harvard, for example, is a great school, but I would not thrive there in the area I want, which is Medicine, not law (the same is the case for most other schools). For those of you who decide to stay at your current school, or transfer to Carolina, good luck to each of you. I hope the school you transfer to is the correct fit. As for me, I found that staying where I am now will allow me to thrive in doing well in my science GPA as well as in studying for the MCAT. In particular, I will stay for the summer and fall semesters and do more volunteer work. Once again, good luck to each of you.

That's interesting mkm. The "new students" page works for me, but like your son, I had never tried it before. Again, someone needs to find a radically underqualified applicant and put him through this process.

Or someone (preferably a parent) could call and ask point-blank what all this means. (I just think they'd be more honest with concerned parents.)

^^^^They probably would just think we were crazy over-involved parents and tell us to wait like everyone else ;). Have to admit all this speculating is kinda like working clues in a game--it's fun, as long as all turns out well for everyone that is!

hopeful aunt i only have the financial aid, lab top, and address icons, NOT the housing

where is a fun place to live for transfers anyway? any fun nice dorms?

i am not in the directory but have everything else...

Son is no longer in directory (used to be), but has everything else.??

i don't think the directory is too accurate...it says my sis is a senior and she graduated a year ago...

uncfuerst, were you the one transferring as a junior? If so, do you plan to live on or off campus (thinking positively here!)

i think so. everyone in my family went to unc, and they say everyone should live on campus at least once.

apparently decisions come out thursday...

Just wondering. Son is so sick of dorm life that he says he wants to live off campus--I told him that it may make it harder to meet people...he says that he will make the effort to do intramurals, join some clubs, and of course socialize on Franklin ;).

Where did you get the Thursday info?

my dad called, everyone gets a PID and probably housing. we will hear on thursday....SCARY!

Fingers crossed for everyone!!!!!
