mine was last updated 4/5/07

I got a "DENIED" letter in the mail Friday. I have just been rejected at Carolina, thus I cannot go there. I will, however, still be able to watch Carolina students cheer for the Tar Heels on national television.

Has anyone else gotten a letter or email about their transfer application??? Is Unccharlotte the only one? I know my nephew hasn't heard anything yet.

I think everyone else will get their decision late next week, or the week after.

unccharlotte, sorry to hear about your rejection. jw, was your name in the directory?

Again, sorry. Hope you get into your other schools.

No, just current students that I know are listed.

Did they update your app status on the unc admissions homepage?

mjmurphy- I definately like the fact that your app was updated the same day as mine b/c your stats seem pretty great :-)...samuial too!

very sorry to hear, unccharlotte, I hope you're very happy wherever you decide to go

An updated page, from my perspective, can mean one of two things: you have been accepted or denied, or information was recently updated. The former would not give anyone a clear indication of their fate, because it either means you were consequentially accepted or denied. One, it would not actually suprise me if Carolina inserts decisions on a frequent basis; and yet, transfer decisions are not shown until they are unrestricted from inside their system. According to Carolina's transfers rates, there are just as many rejections as acceptances. Wherefore, it is just as likely that if those with decisions have been put into the system, that it brings one nowhere closer to determining if one has gotten in. The latter is also another thing that is likely. Many people are still sending in materials, and it is being updated.

Conlclusively, if your page has been updated, you have either been admitted or rejected! With all of that nonsense I just typed, I do not the answer. The best thing is to wait for your decisions, which will all come out at the same time.

charlotte-is there some reason you were informed before other students? I know last year all students were notified online and received their letters several days later. I don't understand why you would be notified before anyone else.

I am not sure. The date has been changed from the 25th to the 21st<<< last possible day decisions come out. There is likely another good two weeks of decisions. I am not sure how fast decisions are made, but I would not be surprised if half the decisions have not been made as of yet.

why wouldn't they just send them out in one batch? And why not just post them online?

Also, I don't know anymore than the rest of you but I'd guess that unccharlotte got his so early because he goes to school in durham: a mere 8 miles from Chapel Hill. I have a feeling the rest of us will get ours later this week.

Sorry to hear about the rejection unccharlotte. out of curiosity, is there a decision up for you online as well? I know you received an official letter in the mail, but technically, shouldn't they have posted your decision on your web page too? if they did, would you mind sharing how to find it? i have been looking under the "status" part of "my application" and nothing has changed. thanks!

yeah i meant was your status (accepted/denied) updated online....

charlotte-time to fess up!!

If you check the posts here on CC last year in April, you will see everyone found out there decision the same day online. Everyone chill out; decisions have not been sent yet.

I asked that my application be taken out of consideration, because I have decided to attend another university. One more slot open for the rest of you. Good luck!

Why would you do that?

Which university did you get into?

They originally said transfer decisions would be up on the 21st and now they are saying the 25th, and regular decisions for freshmen went up on the admissions homepage 15 days earlier, and last year they went out about 10 days early so I am thinking that the decisions should def be up sometime this week....

unccharlotte, i am guessing you got into WUSTL?

I don't get it..First you brag about being in the top 5% for transfer applicatnts to UNC. Then you claim to get a "denied" letter, and now you are saying you asked to be taken out of the applicant pool. Get a life! Your posts are no longer seen as credible.... period!
