Does anyone know when Chicago has traditionally released transfer decisions for early action and when they may be released this year?

i think two years ago decisions came out a week or so late, last year I don't know.

This year they got freshman decisions back two weeks early even though they had a record number of applicants, so I'm hoping we might hear back early.

Anyone else know?

bump for the lulz

I'd guess:

today < EA transfer decisions < 2 weeks

I see what you did there ;)

i was thinking that they must be so hesitate to decide which one should accept as this year they had so much more freshman applicants

I don't think that has much to do with it considering they won't know how many kids will end up attending until after our decisions come out. Someone else mentioned that an admissions officer said that freshman admissions has very little to do with how many transfers they take.

^ Yup, my interviewer emphasized that the # of admitted transfers is not at all contingent on the # of freshman admits or matriculants. *Id est *the stronger the transfer pool, the more they take; the weaker the transfer pool, the less they take.

I can't believe it's almost time for decisions to come out. My personal estimate would be this Friday, the eighteenth, but then again I have no fricken clue.

Decisions are up - how'd you all do?

I got deferred. In other words, they're waiting another 4 weeks to send my rejection letter.

Natalie, did you apply?

No, I was actually an EA freshman applicant. I was asking for a friend of mine, a freshman at Brandeis, who applied as a transfer. I was just curious as to how the rest of the transfer applicants made out.

Natalie, as of the moment I plan to attend Brandeis this upcoming semester, but have come to realize I went about the college decision process the wrong way. For that I'm considering transferring to Chicago come next year, so I was wondering if you could tell me if your friend managed to transfer, and why he/she chose to transfer from Brandeis to Chicago. Thanks.

My friend did in fact get accepted as a transfer, after being initially rejected as a freshman applicant. He desired a more intellectual atmosphere and Chicago offered better opportunities in his major, philosophy. You're welcome to ask him whatever you want, I'll send you a pm with his name and email and you can look him up on facebook or whatever. :)
