Anyone know when transfer decisions are released?

If you find out, or if you hear, please post.

And good luck

I heard that transfers will hear sometime in June

FofC, could I ask where you heard your info. Still no movement that I'm aware of, so I'm guessing your information is accurate. Unfortuantely, that means my S will go past some more deadlines for getting deposit money back for housing at his current school. I'm surprised they are taking so long -- I assume all the waitlisters have been contacted and have replied, so UDel should have a pretty good idea of how many transfer spots are available.

someone I know who transfered last year to Udel did not get a decision until June, so im basing my information off of that. Also, transfer applications were not due until May 1st, so I guess they need time to look over all of them before sending out acceptances. Good Luck!

Thanks, my son is just antsy. Returning to his current school would not be a big deal, he would just rather go to UDel. And it's starting to bug him that he still can't plan anything for next year.

A non-update update: S sent off an e-mail gently inquiring as to when transfer decisions might be made and got the following reply:

Your Transfer Application is complete. Transfer applications are currently being reviewed. If you have a 'need to know by' date, please call the Admissions Office- 302 831 8125- with that information.

Doesn't really apply to my S, but if anybody else has a fast-approaching deadline for another school, it sounds like UDel will be willing to discuss it with you over the phone.

thats good to know, I think I will wait until I hear by mail. Hopefully, your S and I will get in, only damper is that the school does not offer any merit aid for transfer students. Also, did you send in any updated grades for this semester to Udel?

He did not. His second semester was somewhat, umm, uninspiring. Not terrible, but nothing that would add to his credentials. Unless it's buried somewhere in Udel's really bad website, I don't think there was a requirement to send in second semester grades. And the message he received, i.e. "Your transfer application is complete", leads me to believe that it wasn't required. But if your second semester grades were really good, I'd say that you have absolutely nothing to lose by sending them in.

I may send it in because I understand its harder for OOS students to get in, especially for my major, and I did well this semester so hopefully that will be a plus

FYI, my son got access to the admitted student website this morning. So we assume he's in -- Good luck!

Iderochi, congratulations to your new Blue Hen! I'm glad the wait is over. Enjoy Delaworld!

thanks, 3M! One day you're going to have to explain the screen name :)

That made me smile! Okay, here is the genesis of my name. One day back in the 70's I bought a cute stuffed moose for myself. When my son was very little he took a shine to it, and consequently started liking moose. We even had to take 2 trips to Maine when he was about 10 just to see moose. You can guess that his name is Matthew, and somehow we got to calling him Mattmoose as a nickname. Just add Mom, and here I am!

congrats on your son's acceptance to UDEL! I am still waiting to hear.

Best of luck Fan.

Kids and their stuffed animals. My macho 19-year old son will deny it, but he had a stuffed duck that he was inseparble with when he was a toddler, and up to first grade. It went missing and was presumed lost after several moves, but last year it surfaced while we were cleaning. I tossed it in a box that we were using to collect stuff for an eventual trip to Goodwill . . . but was then surprised to see it weeks later sitting on a place of honor on my son's desk. I mentioned it, and he just mumbled something and shrugged, "no big deal". But he had to DIG THROUGH THE BOX WHEN NOBODY WAS LOOKING to retrieve this ratty thing.

still waiting.... anyone else?

Just got my acceptance package. Does anyone know how housing works for transfer students? And is there an orientation for transfers? Thanks.

Fan, that's great. Congratulations! They made you wait far too long! Transfer housing is limited, and it's getting late. I would give Residence Life a call immediately. There is no special transfer orientation, but if you attend Delaworld, you will have some special sessions geared to transfer students.

yes, I have waited a long time, I didnt know Delaworld was for transfers too, but isn't Delaworld like this week? Well I have a lot that I still need to find out, I think I'll call up admissions and ask them all my questions, like when do I receive info. about the credits that will transfer from my old school?
