Hey all! This is my first post on the forums and I’d really appreciate all the feedback I can get. I’ll be applying to UC Davis as a computer science major as well as apart of the TAG program. I got a D in what is known as ECS-40 at Davis last semester and I got an A in ECS-30 a while back. The other courses I need to take are not offered at my current college but I was told by a representative from Davis that they will not be held against me when applying. My main issue, since Computer Science will become a selective major beginning from Fall 2017, transfer applicants need an overall gpa of 3.0 in the ECS-20,30,40 series but my current GPA with those two ECS classes are 2.5. Should things go well in my classes this summer, I will either have a 3.29 or 3.21 GPA (yes, I know I’m cutting it super close for TAG qualification lol please don’t slate me over it ) and I have already registered to retake ECS-40 this fall when I apply and this time hopefully ace it but I am concerned as to whether not the current GPA between those two classes will effect me getting into the program or will they even concern themselves about that aspect considering I haven’t taken ALL the programming classes needed to get into the program yet?
