transfer DREAMS over?

I'm at top school right now, trying to transfer out for sophmore standing. My sat is good but hs gpa is only 3.6, my rank was attrotious. I'll be applying for transfers with only 4 college classes under my belt. It seems likely that my grades will be A+, A, A, B.

Is the B the end of my transfer dreams? I'm looking to transfer to a lower ivy league school like Dartmouth.

My gpa would be 3.915, which you'd think would be great. But that's out of 4.33. If it were out of 4, it'd be a 3.83 which you'd think would be pretty good also. But theres a B in there.

Considering that I'll only have 4 classes on my college transcript, is something like a B or B- the end?

As far as I know...I don't think it should ruin your chances. From what I've heard, a GPA between 3.7-4.0 is the norm for Ivy transfers so I think you should still have a chance as long as the rest of your app is excellent.

a gpa of 3.8 certainly would be great if I had just finished 4 years of college. However, a gpa of 3.8 at the end of the first term dosnt count for much because it's only 4 classes.

It depends on what the B is in, methinks. A B in organic chem as a freshman is not so bad; a B in music appreciation (or some easy class, you get my drift) is not as good.

Keep in mind that the semester's only about half over! You've got time to bring that grade up.

what about if you got an A in Organic Chem but a B in some easy class, isn't that better than the otherway around?

A B in Organic Chem is very good.
