Transfer Engineering

Hi, I'm currently a first year student at Illinois Institute of Technology, which is a very small, low ranked tech school. (56th for engineering)

I am attending this school for the amount of scholarship they offered in my way. However, I am not satisfied with their program at all. I realized cheap isn't always the way to go, especially if it's college education we're talking about. So, I applied to University of Illinois for EE, and was accepted for the following semester.

I couldn't apply michigan because I didn't finish their required courses. Should I just stay another semester at my current school, and apply to Michigan, or go to Illinois anyways? I know the engineering programs at either of the schools are outstanding. But Michigan is simply a better school overall.

The required course for Michigan by the way, includes, Calc 1,2,3 Diff eq, and Linear Algebra. This is 5 math courses in two years to accomplish. Although I can manage this by taking summer courses, is it an automatic denial if any of the required course is missing?

Btw, my current gpa at IIT is 4.0. Im pretty sure I can keep it above 3.85.

And I also read that when I apply as transfer for engineering, they won’t give out decision until december, when the final transcript are in. Is it really going to take that long?

Are you in-state at U of I?..if U of I is a lot cheaper just go there. Michigan is not worth the difference in price.

I’m out of state for both. I’m from hawaii, and there is no decent school there, so college will be expensive wherever I choose.
