Ok. So I'm am applying to transfer to a few somewhat similar top LAC's (funky, hippie, artsy, intellectual), and am unsure what direction I should take with my transfer essay.
Should I go for the creative and unique story/metaphor that i feel like lots of people are talking about, or should i just simply tell them how in love i am with their school, how amazingly well i could flourish in that environment, how much i am dyingggg to get in, how my interests and ideology fit so perfectly, and that i will become clinically depressed and feel like college was a waste of my time for the rest of my life if i have to stay at my current school much longer. ...except that last part? haha... um. so. Any advice?

Also, I haven't gotten very far into the process- can I send different essays to different schools, or does it need to be totally generalized?

haha, yea. i guess i already new that.
but i feel like i could do that with both essays. being honest and personal are two of my integral personal qualities.

so i'm still wondering which the admissions office would like more... if they get tons of essays about how some student feels they are perfect for the school because they love learning, etc... then mine wouldn't stand out too much i guess. i don't want to come across as boring or uncreative. but i also want them to know that this school is absolutely perfect for me, my top choice...

i guess i just have to figure out a way to combine the two- to say that, creatively.

i'm just worried about the fact that transfer acceptance is so lowww, and the schools that i think i would be the absolute best for are possibly slight reaches for my stats. basically this essay will probably be what determines my acceptance.

and what about that second question? with the common app, is it possible to send different essays to different schools?

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to the common app question. :(

Imo, don't try to figure out what the AdCom wants. Truly, what they want is is something personal, detailed, honest and revealing.

If your essay provides that, if it reveals your unique personality and experiences, then it won't matter how many others wrote on the topic you chose. Your essay will still distinguish you from others, and will help you in the admissions process.

It's not the topic, it's what you do with the topic.
