Maybe they have 80 spots to fill…don’t schools generally accept more? In case some of the accepted students do not transfer?

yeah it is 80 spots but will probably accept 140-160 girls

and yeah I received my email from Barnard, got it about 1 week after I sent in my app (I sent it March 31st)

i called today and the lady said middle of may is when people will start to hear probably

Whaaaaat I thought they started releasing decisions as early as yesterday!?

I just received my tracking number so im guessing theyre just now starting to look at the apps and send decisions…

Yeah the lady said starting yesterday but when I asked again, they said it looks like mid-May now. But yeah, conf on the 80 out of 500 And I’m transferring from Vandy because this school is OMG segregated, close-minded, et. al. also changing majors. I’m an international student, and expected something different from an American university of this friggin’ caliber. Tried to force myself to like it to no avail, wish I left after freshman year (applying for junior standing). Unfortunately, I have a crapshoot B GPA here, so I don’t even know if I can make it.

Any word yet? The first batch of decisions went out around this time last year…

im surprised no one has heard back yet…

Does anyone know if Barnard sends their letters to our home address or our current university address?

Someone from another thread got in, and they sent the letter to her school address.

Got my acceptance letter today! (Except they sent it to my home address, so I can’t even see it until my dad finishes scanning everything for me. Meh.)

eta: Just checked and apparently I only gave them my home address. So you’ll all probably still get your responses at your school address. I was just an idiot. :P

Ah! Congratulation! Stats por favor?

My stats aren’t that stellar. Greatest hits version:

Tests: SAT 1990, ACT 33, no SATIIs or AP classes or etc
High School GPA: 3.8 or so; I never found out
College GPA: 3.68 last semester. Probably about the same this semester.
Other: Asian, no current extracurriculars

I currently attend Boston College as a poli sci major. I also made it clear that I wanted to switch to a German/Theater major. I think my commonapp essay was a bit messy, and my approach to the supplement was pretty light-hearted though much better writing. My prof rec was written by the dean of the grad school though, since I was lucky enough to have a class with her my first semester and must’ve been her favorite student. That probably helped.

That’s awesome I am very happy for you. When did you submit the application? Do you think you’ll go?

Thank you. I sent my app in early March, and I have a few questions about transferring credits that I’ve just emailed them about–but after that’s cleared up, I’ll be enrolling for sure.

Hey, congratulations to the accepted students! so the transfer supplement says “Notification: Between April 15, 2009 and May 8, 2009”; do you all think, based on those phone conversations w/Admissions, they will be going past that date?

I was also confused about the dates and had also read the supplement. However, online the dates for notification are April 20-May 15… so i guess May 15… two weeks to go

i called and they said sometime in the next two weeks. i also applied to cornell and theyve been giving decisions over the phone, so i was hoping for the best, but barnard was a negative on the phone decisions.

i hope i find out soon, liaku, you and i have the same sats only im not asian haha i feel like that might work against me :[

haha oh well, keep posting if you hear anything or got a decision yet!!!

what school are all of you girls trying to transfer from?

I got in! a FedEx envelope, i’m studying abroad in switzerland and i went to colgate last year.
