i hope we all get in

Hope so too. Future Barnard sisters please! Would love to meet everyone. Hope there aren’t too many applicants this year…

Shaking in my boots. Best of luck to you all!

That would be wonderful! I figure only the most dedicated applicants are on here, so hopefully that means Barnard will see it in our essays and most/ALL of us will get in! Hope hope hope hope hope. Barnard sisters indeed! <3 Just thinking about it makes me super-excited for next year, but I’m trying to hold it in cause I know from last year that looking forward to something you’re not sure is happening can be very dangerous - I just can’t help it.

Oh gosh I know what you mean about looking forward too much. I feel like I’m in limbo right now because I don’t know if Barnard will see me as either really dedicated or too pressing. I left Vanderbilt last year for really intense dreams of doing architecture in the city. Granted Barnard saw passion, waitlisted with a horrible 2.8 fall GPA (the shot up in the spring thankfully, so I have that final record to show this time). But now I’m at Parsons and it really sucks in general even if I have an awesome GPA here. I miss having a family of supportive friends around. It’s comforting to know that we’re all shaking in our boots together though ahh it may be too much to ask but i’m still hoping for something by the end of the week :-(

I’m scared my need for financial aid will ruin me. Does anybody know what Barnard typically gives in the form of aid for transfers?

I need out of my current school so bad that it hurts.

I’m so nervous! And you girls all seem awesome, I hope we all get in. I’m definitely having trouble concentrating on anything else!

ughh im so sick of people bugging me each and every day if I’ve heard from Barnard yet. I think if I heard from them and if i got in, I’d go running around my campus screaming at the top of my lungs haha. I wish all of us the best of luck! I really want to get back to the city and you know what is worse is that I already know what major I would like to do at Barnard while I have no clue what I would do at my current school. We need to hear back!!!

Sighs we do! Also, the aid doesn’t apply to me because I’m an international student but I head they give okay aid; not awesome but not bad either so I hope they offer you enough because it would hurt so much if only the cost is detrimental to your enrolling at Barnard! Ahhh dream school dream school please omg freaking out 24/7

ladies! i just called the admissions office and the girl on the phone informed me that the admissions office will mail out the letters in two batches. One on the 3rd and the other on the 12th. The batches are completely random (could be rejections, acceptances, or both). Just wanted to share that with you ladies to relieve a little bit of our anxieties XD

thanks for the info katlyn4318! Let’s hope all of ours end up in that first batch so we know as soon as possible!

Ditto! Ahhaha let’s hope we get mail within next week then!! Thanks for the info too

Oh dear I hope it will be the first - the last day I’ll be able to check my mail here is the 14th and that just seems way too optimistic if it’s mailed on the 12th. Plus I have to send in my deposit to choice #2 by the 15th if I’m not accepted. Ackkkk this is not good.

But thank you so much for taking the time to call and for letting us know! Now I know I don’t have to worry about what will be behind my mailbox door until at least the 4th.

Girls! When I called the admissions office the woman on the phone told me they started mailing out decisions on April 15! I’m not sure which is right but best of luck to everybody <3

Hey ladies,

We’re going to find out really soon?! I’m about to hyperventilate (I’m also studying for finals and writing a term paper now).

I applied from high school, but was waitlisted. Then I applied from Babson, a private business school, but was rejected - to be honest, I didn’t spend much time on my app 'cause I thought I would be a shoo-in. Now I’m applying to be a junior from USC, and Barnard is my absolute number one choice. USC has really shown me how much I need a more supportive and smaller environment, but also university research/resources, in the city. Also, I’m from NYC and I miss home!

I can’t believe we’re going to find out so soon. If I don’t get in, I think I’m going to have to take a year off from school and re-apply… ahhh… BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYBODY! They take 80~ girls a year normally as transfers. WE CAN DO IT!!! WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER IN THE FALL… (Positive thinking, ladies lol. Anybody watched The Secret?)

Sarahnour I was informed the same thing and was told that we’re definitely hearing back on or before may 8th!!! sooo nervous!!

^ we’re almost on the same boat, except I can’t really take a year off because I’m international ack! Never applied after high school but applied as a junior transfer last yr from Vandy, got waitlisted and now applying from Parsons haha I feel so bad I feel like I’ve reiterated that a million times I hope nobody minds hehe I DID spend a LOT of time on my app this time though! Ahh omg I do hope we all see each other in the fall!! :-D

ughh has anyone heard yet?? and which one is it??? have they already started mailing out letters or are they beginning to mail out next week?

Last year my waitlist letter was dated April 27th and it was mailed out April 30th eek I really hope we hear back soon. Haven’t heard back yet. Any news from anyone?

no news yet and positive thinking is good! maybe if we all think happy positive thoughts about us all being at Barnard next year it will make it happen :-)

Yes! Let’s keep it positive I’m still so scared but here’s hoping we all get good news early next week! Or maybe even this weekend… Too much to ask hahah! I’m so nervous I check on this thread so much even if it’s clearly not as active as those other transfer threads just to see if someone says something. Haha!
