<p>I’m keeping it a secret a) in case I don’t get in anywhere and b) because I’m worried about people’s reactions. I go to a tiny liberal arts school in california that most people here adore, so people are surprised that anyone would want to leave. I’m bad at keeping secrets so its hard, but a bunch of my friends from high school know so that helps. </p>

<p>On the viewbook thing: it’s a different one you get with acceptance (sorry, I applied mad early, so I got the thanks-for-applying courtesy viewbook back in February or something, so I forgot about it), and it’s not really a viewbook. It was basically everything at ([Barnard</a> Transfer Student Admissions](<a href=“http://www.barnard.columbia.edu/dos/transfer/index.html]Barnard”>http://www.barnard.columbia.edu/dos/transfer/index.html)) looking all pretty-like on sexy paper. Last year’s version had it so the front cover was one of the folder-thingies, and when you opened it, there’d be your acceptance letter tucked into the folder on the inside cover followed by some papers with a preliminary look at how your credits will transfer.</p>
<p>I feel like during all of next week, I will have this nauseous feeling in my stomach because I’ll be nervously awaiting that phone call from my parents telling me about my admissions status.</p>
<p>Agh two more days till they start mailing stuff out! Eeek keep praying and hoping!!</p>
<p>Hey everyone… I’m kinda late to join this forum but I thought I’d say hi since I’ve been reading your posts for a little while.
Im currently attending a California CC and applied as a junior transfer. I already got into UCLA and Berkeley but Barnard is my secret little dream so we’ll see what happens!
Hope we’ll get our letters soon! Having to wait for an actual letter is crazy. I’m so used to the decisions being posted online that the letter version seems completely outdated in comparison. Oh well I guess it’s more thrilling to open my mailbox 3 times a day than to simply click “log-in” and get an immediate answer.</p>

<p>Thanks thewoman, but not so sure considering that Berkeley didn’t look at my HS transcript and didn’t request my SAT scores (since i’m a junior CC transfers)… I have mediocre SAT scores and an uneven HS record so I’m not that confident about it… Oh well we’ll see

<p>No problem, here are my stats:</p>
<p>SAT I 1680ish (can’t remember exactly)
HS GPA: N/A bc I graduated from French school system. But my grades ranged from D’s to A+'s (uneven, as I said, though I got all A’s in my senior year)
Current GPA: 3.93 (@ Santa monica college, California CC)</p>
<p>Besides that, my essay/short answers aren’t very strong, maybe a 7/10. I have pretty strong recs though one from an alumna and one from the director of the honors program at my school.</p>
<p>I must admit I took care of this app right after applying to all UCs so I was kind of drained by the whole application process. We’ll see how it goes.</p>
<p>Everyone seems so determined to go to Barnard here; I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!</p>
<p>I’m so in the dark. I called Barnard and they told me that we’ll be finding out mid May to the end of May. Am I missing something; why does everyone on CC think that we’re getting our letters in the beginning of May?</p>
<p>The website (which I’m pretty sure used to say April 15-May 8) now says we’ll be notified by the middle of May. When did you call them?</p>
<p>Yes, they said they’re definitely sending some the beginning of May. When did you call? Remember when someone said that one batch will be sent out today and another on May 12th? They confirmed that with me last Friday.</p>
<p>Thanks for the stats! I’m sure if they see your passion for the school they’ll appreciate it. I also got a rec from an alum who is a current professor in the department I wanna major in. I hope we get in! Either way Berkeley is amazing?! Haha you’re pretty blessed! Would you go to Barnard if you get in?</p>
<p>Although pepperimps you’re right, they edited the notification date from “April 15-May 8” to “By the middle of May” on the school website. I think it’s because so many of us have been asking and are anxious about notifications and they just don’t want us to be disappointed in case some of us hear back later than May 8th. I’m sure they’ll stay true to their word about releasing some decisions this week though, since they actually said so. We’ll find out! I’ve noticed that the admissions office people at Barnard are extremely nice and show concern and stuff… doesn’t everyone agree? Haha! I’ve experienced the exact opposite with those from other schools. Truth.</p>
