transfer fall 2011, bad grades...

hi, i am looking to transfer to Illinois State, Northern Illinois or Bradley University (Peoria, Illinois), i am coming from a 4 year university with a 2.47 gpa, I had a 3.0 in high school, and a 27 on the ACT (i have earned under 30 credits so the schools will see that) I am just wondering my chances at getting into any of these schools?

Well, I live like 30 minutes from NIU and not far from the others as well. I’d say your best shot is NIU, Illinois State probably being your hardest. I’m not too familiar with Bradley but, if you’re in the area, I’d suggest calling or meeting with an admissions advisor for better information. Your high school stuff is pretty good so they’ll likely take that into account as well.

It might depend on what your major is. Here is the list of majors closed to transfers at ISU -

I couldn’t find a similar list for the other schools you mention.

I wouldn’t transfer after a year if that is what you are doing. From now on, get at least a 3.8 GPA to bring up that 2.47… do another 30 credits at your school. The best you can get is a 3.4 by the end of sophomore year.

Good luck.
