propwash what is your major?

Political science.

Hey guys!

I’m so glad I’ve found this thread. I’m currently a Junior at USF and am finishing up a semester abroad in Oxford, England right now. I’ve applied as a senior-level transfer to UF for Fall 2012 and my major is English Literature (so that would be the CLAS). My application has been referred to my college and still no word on a decision. Has anyone else applied as an English transfer? If so, do you mind posting your stats and decision? And if anyone else has any idea on my chances this late in the game I would be extremely grateful. Thanks!

Tay

Hm idk, are your stats amazing? Coming from a 4 year college, puts you at a bit of a disadvantage when transferring. Also do you have most of your upper division complete? I think UF needs a certain amount of core courses to be completed at UF. English is a limited access program, if I’m not mistaken, so that’s something else to take into account.

Has anyone heard back from Warrington College of Business for a final decision yet?

My cousin applied there last year he got an answer five months after he applied.

Hey everybody. I’ve been following this post for several weeks now. I am currently waiting for my transfer decision from UF. I was wondering if anybody had any advice or input they could give me. My stats:
CC sophomore completed AA
3.84 overall GPA
4.0 prepro GPA
Completing last prerequisite currently this summer.
Student Government Preisdent
Cross Country Runner
Microbiology Major-Prepro
Applied to CALS in August of 2011. I’m am STILL waiting.
My status hasn’t changed for 9 months and I’m honestly about to give up and goto FSU. When I called the school they said it may be July 15th. So ridiculous. I guess they don’t care that we need to sign leases and want priority for certain class registration. I was wondering if anybody else is still waiting on CALS?

foolishbird i’m also waiting it. I applied for accounting major with a 3.68 gpa, and I called them last week and they said it’s still early to make a decision, and I have to wait for awhile. I guess we will find it out in june. Btw, can you please share your stats?

My app has been referred to warrington for about a week now (I applied somewhat late). I called Warrington yesterday and they informed me that I would have their decision in two weeks at the latest - so that’s some good news for us!

I am a CC student from Santa Fe, already living in Gainesville and all and have actually already signed a lease for an apartment for next year, so I’m really counting on a yes.

Overall GPA: 3.82
Tracking GPA: 3.66
As of spring.

I’m taking one final tracking class during the summer so my acceptance(if accepted) will most likely be conditional on me finishing that class with a B or higher but I just recently took the first of three tests in the class and aced it so things are looking good!

The Business school has a policy of admitting all students who meet basic UF Admissions requirements and also meet the benchmark of a 3.0 gpa/3.5 tracking gpa. I have personally talked to a few of the advisors over there myself and they confirmed this to be true. Hopefully that information can put you at ease a little, I know I’m just super anxious to actually see it say “Congratulations!”(Hopefully!!!). I check the admissions page probably 3 times within an hour.

Also, when I went to check today a new box saying “transcripts needed” from Santa Fe had popped up. Its somewhat confusing because I definitely sent them my transcripts from Spring term as it even lists it under “transcripts recieved”. I’m gonna give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, hopefully its not a large complication.

I think they just might be referring to your final transcript with your summer grades. Just send them in as soon as summer is over and it should get cleared up.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I don’t want it to possibly hold up their decision though so I will be sure to call tomorrow. Thanks for the advice though!

Does anyone know if you get accepted for Spring can you switch to Fall??

You can request a term change but the chances of getting approved are VERY slim. Also, there are deadlines to adhere to when submitting a term change. If you’re referring to switching to FALL 2012 I think the deadline may have passed. Try looking on the UF website. There is also a thread about term change requests on here.

Is anybody on here going to June 4th preview? Have you received your parking pass and other information yet? I have not? Does anybody who did go to preview already know or remember when they received all their pertinent information? Thanks in advance for the helpful information!:)

Lol calm down, they send that stuff within a few days of your scheduled Preview Date. Id say earliest a week before. Don’t worry.

Omg I’m so calm now thanks:p I really just hate calling them if I don’t absolutely need to! Haha

Foolishbird, it seems like you have a decent gpa! I know the competition for business student is really hard, and I think you have a high chance of getting in! My application has been sent to warrington for more than a month, but I still haven’t heard back. Hopefully, I will also get notified within two more weeks.

What major are you applying? I am actually applying to Fisher the accounting school, and I just asked my accounting teacher to send a recommendation to UF few days ago. Hopefully, this helps my app a bit.

For tracking gpa, do you mean those pre-req classes gpa ? If so, I have around 3.7 tracking gpa and will finish the managerial accounting class this quarter

Np . Btw the email really isn’t super informative. Its just a general overview of what to expect, but not an itinerary or anything. You get a printed itinerary of what you will be doing at Preview hour by hour, on your actual Preview day when you check in.

Yes I do mean the pre-req’s.

My major is finance and I was actually accepted yesterday so i am very happy!
Good luck to everyone still waiting. My advice to y’all is to call the college and bug them. I called a few times in the past week and they finally got it done!

I registered for football tickets but it wont let me register for orientation yet for some reason. Says I need to wait until their system updates overnight. However, I waited until over-last-night (today) and it still shows the same message. Maybe I’m just being too anxious. I’m curious to see what previews are still open. I’m gonna go ahead and assume most are already full but I want to set everything up asap!

congrats foolishbird!! i hope i will get notified soon and will see you there haha
anyway good luck in UF!
