I'd rather transfer as a sophomore.

I've basically been working with my dad these last few years to help pay for my tuition so there wasn't much space for ECs, he's a handyman so now I'm very "handy" too, lol. I doubt that'll help for Chemical Engineering but that's my experience. I'm hoping to volunteer at the local library ASAP and possibly join the Green Club at my school.

Do I have a chance at transferring to Cornell Fall 2013? I'm considering retaking the SATs this December (I still have till tomorrow to register late), should I?

I'm a woman, hispanic, and married.

Chance me?

Hi, I am a recent accepted transfer applicant. Ur stats look pretty good but u should get more EC and if possible community sevice. I hope u get accepted :0

Hi xtarion! Congrats on getting accepted!
What do your SAT scores look like? Do you think I should retake?
I agree about the ECs and community service, I’m gonna need to get lots of those.

I didn’t summit my SAT scores CALS does not require it.

That’s great! Did they interview you? I’m thinking of CALS too, the problem is that I’m already a sophomore and well, I’d like to transfer with sophomore standing (instead of junior) for fall. Is this possible? I’ll meet the requirements for a sophomore transfer by next semester.

There was no interview. Cornell determine the amount of credits that is transferable. if you have only complete the requirement to be a 2nd year student, I believe they will place you as a 2nd year student even though u may have junior credits. Just be prepare to loss some credits.

I don’t really mind losing some credits
Thanks for answering all these questions for me! I hope you are right about being able to transfer as a sophomore. I actually asked CALS and they gave me a weird answer…

“Number of credits is important when transferring. To transfer in as a sophomore you will have had to complete 12-30 college credits or as a junior transferring in you may have greater than 30 credits. Please note that CALS will only accept up to 60 transfer credits.”

what do you think?
