Anyone got any notification ?

I believe transfer students will hear back by May 1st, but you can keep track of any updates by following the UVA transfer admission blog (uvatransferadmission dot blogspot dot com).

Good luck!

I wish we could hear at the same time as freshmen. This wait is killing me. I’m encouraged by seeing OOS admissions, but I have no idea what percentage of transfer admits are OOS, and what the standards are. I’m pretty satisfied with my application, especially my essays, but my test scores are 2000-2100 vs 2300.

There is no standard to the OOS/IS rates for transfers. They use the transfer class to balance out current IS/OOS ratios in classes so OOS admission could possibly be higher for transfers than first year admissions. A logical case could be made that more OOS first years transfer out than IS due to costs, but that’s just my hypothetical guess. Also, the first year class could have accepted what they thought would result in a balance, but the class is maybe 60% IS and 40% OOS just due to natural luck. The 66/33% is never perfect either.

Basically, don’t worry about the IS/OOS admissions, past or present. They can change from year to year, as does the overall admittance rate (I think my year it was low 30%s, others it has crossed 40% for overall admissions)

Thanks Shoebox. I realize it’s all out of my control. I appreciate the info, though I’ll hope they really need OOS sophomores.

The mid of April? Waiting…
