Transfer Fall 2014 Decision

Got In

Yeah my letter also said I needed to send in my final transcripts before they made a decision, is anyone else coming from an out of state university?

@Meggo561‌ I am coming from a Florida state school!

@gmoneyy94‌ you may not have been considered for the priority pool. call admissions to double check.
@Meggo561‌ I’m coming from an out of state university!

It seems like living on campus is close to none. Can anyone confirm pretty much that transfer students won’t get housing on campus? Is living off campus close to campus easy to do without a car?

Got in!!, Letters and Sciences until they see my current semester grade for Business. For anyone who’s wondering, my GPA is a 3.64 and I had average EC’s and worked close to full time for my two years at CC. (I have an A.S. in Business Administration.) I was also an out of state applicant.

@mak1994 I know a few transfer students who got housing without any problems. I think they play down how much they really have so that way you would be less disappointed if they actually don’t have space. But I’m not sure, you would have to call the school on that.

@mak1994 @ncas379 Me too, I’m a freshman at FAU

I got placed on the wait list for Fall 2014 =/ . Does anyone have any experience with this?

I was admitted to umd with 15credits, college gpa of 3.46, no ec’s at all.
I am planning to drop one of my 4credit hour course. Would this revoke my admission? I have 15credits completed with A in calculus and AP language for college english

@happynewyear I’m in the same situation as you. I finished my fundamental Math and English requirements last semester and want to drop a 4 credit hour math course. I asked over the phone today if it would rescind my admission and they said that it’s possible. They gave me a transfer counselor’s email and said to ask her so I guess I’ll have to see what she says… I think they would revoke the admission only if it was a required course for transfer (eg. fundamental math or english).

@mdbred thank you for your comment! I e-mailed the admissions office too and am waiting for its reply. I hope dropping one course does not affect our admssion decisions …the course I am trying to drop is the principle of accounting, which is not even a required course for my major(chemistry). yeah I read somewhere that pretty much the only case where one gets rescinded is when he/she fails or drops a course like college english/math that is required for transfer admission. since we have already finished college math and english, I hope dropping one course does not take away our admission. I really have to drop this accelerated accounting course…failing every single exams :(

@mdbred‌ how many total credit hours will you have completed by the end of spring semester? If I drop this accounting course, I will have 26credits completed.

I got my associates degree in computer information science … I’m taking classes at umuc too which I currently have a 3.8, but my GPA from umuc didn’t get to show on the application! I got wait listed for fall 2014, what are the chances of me getting in!?

@jstro024‌ are u a transfer student or freshmen ?? And are u out of state? I think they favor out of state more than in state!

@Camq897
Hey! I’m a resident of Maryland, I’m transferring from Old Dominion University and I’m a sophomore.
Wbu?

@happynewyear I will have 27 credits if I drop the course. I’m hoping they get back to me soon, as my last day to withdraw is on Tuesday :frowning:

@mdbred I think there are many students like us who wish to drop some course after getting the admission.
I just got a reply from the admission counselor that we just need to simply submit the updated transcript. she asked me my DOB so that she can give me a more detailed reply regarding my situation. I will see what she says. But I think dropping an unrequired course would not revoke the admission.

@happynewyear Thanks, that’s good to hear. I’m still waiting on a reply but I assume it’ll be similar to what you received. I’m pretty sure we’ll be OK but I just want the confirmation before dropping it.

@happynewyear The transfer counselor told me the same. She said it won’t affect the decision and to just submit the updated transcript at the end of the semester. That’s a relief!
