Last year they started releasing around mid may so we still got some time left. Almost near the end guys! good look to you all !
Update: my financial aid was posted! I got an incentive grant. Didn’t think transfers were eligible for that! Super nice surprise.
Hey guys! Turned my application in on the last date it was due. How long do you think it will take for them to make a decision?
@Shagunbali you should be hearing back some time this month!
I can’t wait to hear back! So impatient to see if i get in, I would absolutely love to attend SCU. :x
@Shagunbali Best of luck to you!! I would guess you will know before June 2 because that is Transfer Admit Day? Keep us posted!
Finally, got in! Page said ‘no default webpage’ for about a day then it showed up as Congratulations.
So happy for you, @namesdontmattr !
@namesdontmattr congratulations on getting accepted!
I was wondering If I could PM you inquiring about your stats? Also can you let me know how the aid/Yellow Ribbon process goes, I am a veteran as well and will trying again for the winter or fall term.
I chose to apply to Arts and Sciences because I didn’t have all the prerequisites for engineering and was surprised I wasn’t accepted to the school of Arts and Sciences.
I called to find out a reason and they said it mainly had to do with them wanting to see how I did as a full time student, since I have been taking my classes part time. Below are my stats
-30 graded units with 4.0 GPA from 3 different colleges(National American university, American Military University, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical university)
-My coursework includes: college algebra, pre calc, Calc 1, Eng comp 1, public speaking, General Chem 1 with lab, Elements of physics with lab, principles of management
- Currently finishing up Calc 2
-Active duty Air Force(total of 4.5 years of service) - multiple military awards such as Airman of the year, airman of quarter, early promotions etc…
- approximately 400 community service hours mostly in youth sports also in various organizations like meals on wheels, relay for Life etc…
-4 years technical experience with mechanical and electrical technology working as HVAC/R and Honeywell controls technician
Thanks @searchforhome!
@Eugiebalfj No problem. I’ll do what I can to help.
I have about 3.6 GPA.
About ~90 quarter units from Foothill/DeAnza, some of those credits are from when I was deployed (Central Texas College sent a professor out on deployment with us and Excelsior had some correspondance courses available)
I’ve been going to DeAnza and Foothill full time for two years. I’ve focused mainly on courses that SCU specifically calls out for transfer on their website. I don’t think I can link to there, so I’ll just say it’s under scu dot edu / registrar / transfercredit. I got everything they show in red (transfer recommendation), and most of what they show in black.
USN 6 years of service. Similar awards / Early Promotes
Got out in 2013 and have been working at a data center in controls and automation.
As for the Yellow Ribbon program, the admissions office had me fill out a form and I’ll find out later this year. It’s first-come-first-serve. I’m going to have to find additional sources to pay for my remaining two years, I’m sure.
I would also recommend applying at SJSU if you haven’t, I was also accepted there.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
