<p>I missed the application deadline for my first choice (long story), and was offered a substantial amount of money to go. I was wondering if transfereing from another college would affect financial aid. (this is for all those non-100k+ a year salary ppl)</p>
<p>I am not exactly sure what you are asking -- you did not apply to the school and yet you were offered money to attend? </p>
<p>in general, FA awards for transfer students is much less and has more loans. Anytime you apply to a school, you start the FA application process over again -- so any money that was offered to you this year would not be automatically offered to you as a transfer student (in fact, many of the really good scholarships are only offered to applicants coming in as freshman).</p>
<p>have you considered a gap year if you don't have any better alternatives?</p>
