i'm going to be starting my first semester of sophomore year in the spring (i took a semester off). i applied to gw in hs and was rejected with a 1300 3.3 gpa, great recs, great extracurriculars. i am applying as a transfer for next fall however, my college now has a huge core, and my grades aren't spectacular, esp. in math and science. my cum. avg. will prob. be a 3.0 after this semester, but my grades this semester are pretty much all a's and b's. i'm very involved in campus life at my school and hold a steady part time job. i'm majoring in polisci and possibly campain management which gw has a great program in. so i was just wondering if anyone out there had applied as a transfer has any tips (do they interview?) because my stats aren't great and gw is my first choice school to transfer to. i love dc and i love gw more then gtown and i just hated american. i think gw will give me great opportunites as a polisci major but i don't know if it might be a dissadvantage cause everyone who goes to gw wants to be one. any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Sorry I'm not much of a help but I have a question...

I have similar stats as you did in HS when you were rejected with great ECs and letter of recs as you did. Did you apply to the Elliot School and was it ED or RD?

thanks

i applied rd to CSAS. at the time i wanted to major in classics.
