I'll be calling UF this week but I just wanted to get other opinions on this.

Back in August I applied for a fall transfer for the college of engineering. As time went on I kind of got adjusted to my current university, finishing up some pre-requisites and UF faded away for a while these past two semesters. This past week I got a letter saying I've been accepted pending final transcripts, etc. for the fall in the College of Engineering.

I've been flip-flopping between engineering and the sciences (specifically physics) all last year and going into the summer and fall of a new year, I've talked to enough faculty and tried out courses to be decided for physics as my major. It would be nice to see if I can change majors for this fall instead of reapplying for the Spring, which is what I probably have to do anyway, which wouldn't really be a problem. I don't think I want to jump into engineering with a faint possibility of changing majors.

I really don't want to choose a school because of a major (electrical engineering, pending of course). UF has an excellent physics department and I want to finish my upper division in an environment like that.

Can admitted-pending students change majors from CoE to CLAS before arriving is what I am basically pondering. Space is always an issue, but it's worth a shot.
