Hi everyone! Wanted to see what my chances were for transfer admissions this year. UR is my #1 choice and I’m really hoping I finally get in.
I didn’t do too well in high school, but I know they put more weight on the college work as more is completed. HS GPA 2.7, SAT: 1890
College GPA 1st Semester: Will be between a 3.6-3.8. I took 19 credits first semester and will take 19 during my second. Including O Chem, Calc II, etc. Pretty confident about 2nd semester and submitting my mid-year report. I have a STEM schedule mostly, but I am continuing my foreign language sequence and adding another semester of English. Intended major will be biochemistry or chemistry with a double major in healthcare studies. Currently I am a Chemistry major on a pre-med track.
Extracurricular Activities: Student Government, Member of 3 Clubs, Peer Tutor, I also volunteer at a few local organizations outside of school.
I am a Virginia resident and UR Legacy. Also I am currently attending a college in Virginia. Not sure if it matters but I also won’t be applying for financial aid.
I am very confident with my recommendations and essay. Just a little worried about my extra-curriculars and high school GPA. I have shown a tremendous amount of improvement from high school so I hope they will see that. However, I know that admission to UR is extremely competitive. Any advice or feedback would be awesome! Thank you guys so much!
