Just got my FA package for sophmore year, and its down from last year, which isn't a huge surprise. However, if its not adjusted or increased, I will have to consider transfering. The cheapest option is Pitt, but its way too big for me and is a little too close to home (25 mins) so its a backup option. Also, im taking summer courses at Pitt, and since they don't factor in to my gpa, I slacked and got B's, so if id transfer to Pitt my GPA would go down a few points.
Im from PA, currently go to Case with a 3.5 after 2 semesters, play varsity (D3), greek, officer in a club, write for the school paper, nothing too interesting. Any schools that are within 5 to 6 hours of Pittsburgh, god liberal arts program/string academics, smaller minority population, near a city but not necassarily in it (kind of like swarthmore or cmu), not in the middle of nowhere. Reasonable FA to transfers/chance for scholarships. I am on track to graduate in 3 years if that's relevant. Thanks

Hey tiff90, surprised to see another fellow Case student on the transferring boards.

Dickinson College, Lafayette College, Penn state university (though that may be too large)

well hopefully I won’t have to, but it’s dependent of the FA office, and they decided in to force my parents to dip into their retirement funds in the FA award. We’re talking to them now and hopefully they can increase it, especially since they awarded $3000 in Work study last year and i made less then a third because it took me 4 months to find a job. So if things don’t work out looking for a spring transfer :/
