Transfer Friendly?

I've read mixed reviews on how UCLA is with transfers. I realize it's a big school, and you have to be proactive, it's just that I'm worried that everyone will have their old group of friends (I am OOS). Is this really the case? Has anyone else came from OOS/transferred without knowing people and found it particularly difficult? I'm pretty social to begin with, just dont wanna feel like everyone else is already trenched in. Also, rushing a fraternity is something I've always wanted to do, how is that scene at UCLA?

It depends...do you intend to live on-campus for your first year at UCLA? That has a huge impact. My transfer friends are assigned with other transfers, so you won't be the only transfer around. I'm not too familiar with rushing, but a fellow transfer from my community college rushed in the fall and plans to live in the house next year. Also, if you work, join clubs, etc., it would make a huge difference in meeting people.
