I am currently an undergraduate freshman attending a CSU school and would like to transfer to UC Berkeley by the time I am a junior. I would like to transfer because the school I am attending is not what I thought it would be and I would rather graduate with a degree from a more prestigious college such as UC Berkeley. Also I am a electrical engineering major and Berkeley have the third highest ranked program in the world for this. What factors should I work on that can increase my chances of getting in? (I have read their policies and expectations for transferring. I also understand how difficult it can be and that I’ll never have a guarantee) Any advice would be appreciated.
Withdraw from your CSU and go to a CCC if you want to get to Berkeley EECS. Seriously. Also, get straight A’s at your CSU. Engineering majors at UCs are extremely difficult to transfer into - coming from a CSU would make your chances for Berkeley EECS near impossible.
If you have your mind set on transferring to a more prestigious institution (whether it be UCB or some other UC - or CalPoly perhaps), it’s much more feasible to do it from a CC.
